If the Sanhedrin were around today and proclaimed that a particular group of people were direct descendants of Amaliek lhilchaso. Orthodox Jews would have a Torah sanctioned obligation to exterminate every single member of that group, men women and children with no mercy or compassion. Even mothers holding their babies crying and pleading for mercy would need to be slaughtered in cold blood. And if you publicly refused to murder these men women and children (and babies) you would be outcast as a mumar ledavar echad, (someone who denies any Torah mitzva or statute) This was among the plethora of challenges I had with Torah.
