If the church is the body of Christ, doesnt it matter what church - TopicsExpress

If the church is the body of Christ, doesnt it matter what church we go to since there is one body? Since the definition of faith is trust joined with obedience, shouldnt we trust the process that Jesus calls us to be obedient to? Baptism comes from the Greek word baptizo which means immerse or baptisma which means immersion...which means we should be immersed in water and brought back up when we are baptized (Acts 8:38-39). When we are immersed with the authority of God, into Christ, it is for the remission of sin and putting on Christ to access the grace God has already freely extended (Mark 16:15-16). JESUS answered, Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. (John 3:5) If Jesus is saying you need to be baptized and you now know what it really means to be baptized, why then is it that it is not required in some churches, performed incorrectly on infants who have not confessed Jesus is their Lord in others, or you have to wait until it is a Baptism Sunday in others? Question what your salvation experience was, because salvation comes from the trust and obedience to his word. Baptism is where salvation happens. If you have any questions about it, ask me or ask you pastor about these scriptures.
