If the sunset clauses had a tenure of five years why didnt the ANC use its majoritarian powers in 1999 to amend the agreements? As the clauses are constitutionally binding and our numbers with every election are swaying away from a two-thirds Majority will it then mean that the clause will remain intact without any adjustments? From those who drafted & endorsed the clauses within the alliance what was to be done eventually correct such a compromise?
