"If the whole universe had no meaning," C.S. Lewis once wrote, "we should never have found out that it had no meaning." Every time the clock ticks down 42 seconds, someone in this country attempts suicide with success occurring every 17 minutes. Every hour and 39 minutes, the suicide victim is below the age of 15. Overall, suicide is the ninth leading cause of all United States deaths. The meaning/value of life and the topic of suicide is something that is very present in Fish Tale Group Theatre’s production of “Freud’s Last Session” by Mark St. Germain. In addition to the entertainment value, Fish Tale Group Theatre wishes to use this production in order to effectively inform, educate, and empower our community in regards to the serious conditions addressed through this show.
