If they had used a white parent with her white child, this ad would have made a lot more sense and touched a lot more people. Theyre asking the viewer to treat black children as good as they treat their pets. Unfortunately, using a white owner(?) with a black child just makes this look like more of a throwback to times when this was the reality. The shock value greatly outweighs the analogy, and their message is completely lost.
