If things go as planned, we will leave in the morning for our last - TopicsExpress

If things go as planned, we will leave in the morning for our last weekly trip to Houston. This will be our fifth trip to Houston this month. We usually drive all the way out there in one day and stop and spend the night with Donna and James on the way back. I was scheduled to be at the hospital all day on December 24th, but they were able to change it to the 23rd. We got there that morning at 6:30 and left that night at 10. We were very tired, but thankful we were able to make it home for Christmas. I am not scheduled to go back until the last week in January. They will do a scan then to see how the pill is working. So far the chemo pill has not been bad, but the weekly visits have been a little frustrating. In the past, I always knew my schedule several weeks ahead of time and things went fairly close to the scheduled times when I was there. That has not been the case in this clinical trial. My schedule changes constantly, sometimes even the day before I am to be there. They tell me to check my e-mail daily for changes. We are fortunate that Charles has a cousin that lives in Conroe that we stay with so I am not having to try to figure out hotel arrangements in advance. They keep telling me that things normally run smoothly in the program and they will get it worked out. I think it will be much easier when we are only having to deal with it once a month. We are hoping to be in Taylor for the weekend in a couple of weeks. Sure will be good to see everyone.
