If tomorrow was the last day of your life, what would you do? After careful consideration and literally visualizing and allowing my self to feel what it would truly feel to have less than 24 hours left. I came to a sound conclusion... that the only thing that I would do, that would truly bring joy and make sense would be to gather all my loved ones in one place. Every single one in a party of some sort. With no reason or excuse. Look at them slowly as if time were to stand still. Appreciate their laugh, their face, the way they carry themselves. Share memories with them and make them realize how important they have been to me and how much I have valued them. We spend so much of our waking life thinking about what if I won the lottery what would I do, what would I buy? Where would I travel to...Or trying to climb up the corporate ladder, accumulate wealth, attain credentials, shop til we drop to try to impress the people that really dont quite matter... Too much of our time and conscious thought is spent on accumulating the tangibles that we forget and loose perspective of what truly matters. So my early New Years resolution is to slow down, appreciate the people who love me and who have invested time in me and love and invest time in them. Because true happiness and reason for living is for those memories and joyous occasions that you get to make with your loved ones. And at the end of the day, THAT will be what will bring a smile to your face when you reflect back on your life. - Maryam T
