If transmission lines are public health hazards, why are health - TopicsExpress

If transmission lines are public health hazards, why are health risks ignored by federal agencies and denied by power utilities? The short answer is greed. Transmission lines are highly profitable to utilities, endorsed by powerful industry groups using lobbyists and political contributions. The only thing that has changed in the last 22 years is the height of the towers, the voltage of the lines from 69 kV up to 765 kV., and the width of the right-of-way up to 200-foot wide. This video clip is not-for-public use. It is taken from “The Distinguished Gentleman,” a 1992 Hollywood Pictures, Touchwood Pacific Partners movie, distributed by Buena Vista Pictures.
