If we are following Christ, then we have no new message from God. We have what He said in the Word which has been what Hes said since the beginning. His Word never changes... its us that do. And we *must* make sure that we are ever-so-carefully changing to be more *like* Christ, not trying to redesign Him like us... thats pretty hard in the culture we live in. It seems that most of those around us are never satisfied to stay. They want to move forward. But to what? Falsehood? Thats not forward, thats backward. The apostle John said it well - I do not teach you something new, but what was of old... a new command I give you (the same old one). Thats correct. And the sooner we settle our hearts the excitement we seek in our relationship with Christ isnt in finding some new devotional, or keeping up with whats popular, or keeping up with the ever-changing fickle standards and fads of the world... well never find our strength from Him and His Word. We must lie down in the green pastures of His Word, and seek to make sure that our #1 priority is obeying Him and growing deeper in that. Its not fancy and its uncomfortable to our flesh - thats why the world wont do it. The question is - will we settle with just His Word and to really get to know and grow in following Him? Our honest answer to that question, can/will mean life or death - Heaven or Hell. ~ This is Sara Groves with an old but really to-the-point one: The Word ~ enjoy! :)
