If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just (true to His own nature and promises) and will forgive our sins [dismiss our lawlessness] and [continuously] cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Father God, thank You for the gift of forgiveness. You know that although I so often ask for and receive forgiveness from You that I struggle with the forgiveness You expect from me: freely forgive your brother from your heart his offenses., Even as the Lord has forgiven you, so must you also forgive Father, thank You, that You look at our hearts and can make us aware of the changes we need to make to become more and more like You. Thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit living in us who can convict us of our need to both receive and give forgiveness. Thank You that Jesus paid the price for forgiveness with His blood. To You, Father, Son and Holy Spirit be the glory now and forever more.
