The Pharisees were like many people today who are in some position of power or authority. The main reason that they rejected Jesus was because His popularity threatened their position. Right now in America millions upon millions of dollars are being spent to either maintain a position of power or gain a position of power in politics in the upcoming elections. But Jesus didnt need to play politics. He knew who He was and what His assignment was. He simply fulfilled what God called Him to do. I beleive this is a key for us today. When we focus on just what God wants each of us to do rather than trying to do someone elses part or worse...keep them from doing what we want to do, then our lives will be more like the life of Jesus. The only position Im focusing on is my position with Jesus. How bout you?
