If we want Labour to represent something more than just curbing - TopicsExpress

If we want Labour to represent something more than just curbing the worst excesses of Tory policy, it’s up to us ordinary party members to start talking to each other and get ourselves organised. Too many of us have either kept our heads down or torn up our membership cards. If we want a Labour Party worthy of the name, all of that has to change. That’s where Red Labour comes in. We’re not another think tank. We are party members who want to get people together and transform our party into a campaigning organisation once again. We want to give a voice to the membership and to start talking about issues again, not just waiting in hope that the leadership might start saying the right things. We want our CLPs to be dynamic, active and start holding our MPs and our leadership to account. Labour must stand up for those whose lives are being ruined by this government. That means rejecting austerity outright. We in Red Labour want to make the case for real job creation, for fair taxation and an end to tax dodging, for building social housing, for rent controls, for an end to workfare and zero hours contracts, for public control of our transport system, our energy and water supplies, and for universal access to education and health. These are Labour values. Join us.
