If we were to do this in the Greater Hartford area, where should such villages be placed? In the entire Greater Hartford area, there are 10 Emergency Homeless Shelters; 2 in Vernon, 1 in Manchester, 1 in East Hartford and 6 in Hartford. Would local Zoning Codes allow smaller lots and home sizes? Would churches be allowed to have them on-site? Throughout America, if each faith congregation fully supported an average of 2 homeless people, there would be enough housing. Two (2) isnt too large to handle, but Zoning wouldnt allow it. By why is it allowable and acceptable to allow homeless to live in the woods, under highway bridges, in cars, in vacant buildings, but small homes arent legal. Completely supported is important though, no one wants to or deserves to live near a dangerous, unclean, unsafe project. The proper maintenance and supports would need to be in place, guaranteed. Are our priorities messed up a little, or A LOT??? Are you out-raged, I am!!!!
