If we’re not allowed to host show, CM is responsible: Haqeeqat-e-Kashmir Srinagar, Sep 6: (GNS) The organizers of show “Haqeeqat-e-Kashmir”, a parallel concert to that of Zubin Mehta’s today warned government of putting any hindrance to their show. They said if authorities did not allow their programme they will hold a sit-in protest at the same place. The music concert is scheduled to commence at 12 noon on Saturday at Municipal Park, Srinagar. According to Srinagar based news gathering agency Global News Service (GNS) Khurram Parvez, one of the organizers, while addressing a press conference here said the civil society group had written to Deputy Commissioner Srinagar about the permission of the event. “But we have not received any formal response from the district administration so far,” Khurram said, adding that “I even called the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar today and talked to him about the status of the permission request.” He said the administration is hiding itself behind lies. “If we are not allowed to conduct the show, the responsibility lies on Chief Minister.” Khurram said we feel that we may not be permitted to organize the event, “but still, we will reach the venue for a peaceful sit in.” The organizers informed that more than three thousand people will be participating in “Haqeeqat-e-Kashmir”. The data was provided by the organizers in response to the enquiries about the programme raised in a letter from the administration. The group however, denied receiving any such letter. “We are reading about the letter from media,” Khurram said. Another member of the organizer, Dr Altaf Hussain while talking to media persons said the main difference between “Haqeeqat-e-Kashmir” and “Ehsaas-e-Kashmir” is that the performers in Shalimar are aliens to the soil while as the people present in Municipal Park are sons and daughters of soil. “I am sure the audience of collaborators will understand nothing in Shalimar but here in this park the participants will be an active part of the programme,” Dr Altaf said.
