If you all get out to Omaha ever, Here are some suggestions for you: 1. Blue Sushi, some of the best sushi I have had in the midwest and their special nigiri and sashimi is very adventurous. They are known for their drink menu, but I stuck with unfiltered sake. 2. Block 16, 16th and Farnam. They specialize in sandwiches and fries, but not like you would expect. The Poutine is my favorite, they also have a thing called Duck Duck Goose which is Duck confit, Crispy duck skin (my order had a huge chunk of non-crispy duck fat MY FAVORITE), AND gooseberry gastrique. The special today was truffle fried pork trotters on a sandwich. their burgers and chicken come from a local farm...I cant say enough good things about the food and the staff. 3. Boiler Room. This place is definitely fine dining, and they emphasize mixology. Its New American cuisine at a very high level, in a basement space that was formerly a boiler room. right? 4. Localmotive food truck. local ingredients, late night food in the Old Market. The ice cream shop that it parks at is bad ass as well. There are a bunch of other great spots downtown and Dundee, these are just my top four.
