EFMM6001 Major Project Research Draft Timetable Attached is a draft copy of the Major Project Research Timetable - this is subject to change over the summer and the final version will be given to you at the briefing. However you should find it useful for seeing when you are required to be at Epsom and key assessment points. EFMM6001 Major Project Research Student Groups Students are split alphabetically for timetabling into group A & B Abacioglu - Kregzdyte (Group A) Kuntuala - Wright (Group B) Day Off-Timetable If you are doing Double Dissertation with CS you will have Thursdays free and if you are doing Consumer Forecasting with Charlotte Rutter you will have Fridays free. Timetables will be given to you for these units when you return in September. Summer Research We advise you to start researching and thinking about your Major Project over the summer. Your brief is to research the changing global fashion marketplace for a brand or sector of the market that you think offers an opportunity for your Major Project. You should select a fashion related gap in the market with sufficient breadth, depth and published information to enable you to produce a substantial market research and analysis report. This should have the potential to progress into a feasible gap in the market proposition for your Major Project. PESTEL Analysis As a formative part of your Major Project Research Unit you will be using the PESTEL analysis process to develop an understanding of an appropriate environment (bigger picture) or key drivers of change, which in turn will help you focus on a specific gap, area of growth or market potential. In order to facilitate this process, you are required to collect a body of research in the form of articles and images that interest you from each of the different areas of influence; · Political Factors · Economic Factors · Socio - Cultural Factors · Technology Factors · Environmental Factors · Legal This is for your own reference and as such can be presented in a scrapbook format or as a digital file. You will however be asked to discuss the subsequent analysis with your tutors and peers during your Research Ideas Workshop on 29th September. Very much looking forward to meeting you in September, I’ve heard some wonderful things about you all and have high expectations. Have a fantastic summer. Best wishes Mary Mary Carson Senior Lecturer Fashion Management & Marketing UCA Epsom [email protected]
