If you are Proud to be an American, please pass this on. As a U.S. citizen, I am a free individual. As a US citizen I have rights to choose my religion and my lifestyle. I am not forced to do anything against my will. I have the right to make something of myself. I have the right to raise my family with my beliefs. The right to be me. I am an American. My country has only asked that I follow the laws it has set in place for the people of America. Which if were simplified, the laws are to be respectful, responsible and not cause harm. If so, there are consequences. These laws do not infringe on my freedom. In my country, the citizens have the voice. We the people, vote for things we approve of and disapprove of. We have a government that listens to our voice. They put into effect what majority vote calls for. In our country we have no rulers. We have a system that is to prevent tyranny from a king, socialism and communism from a ruler. We have a President. A president is there to preside/watch over our nation. Protect us from enemies. A president that is to watch over the government and make sure that they do not get over controlling over our nation. A president that helps the people keep their freedom. Yes, we as citizens do pay taxes. This is a law and there are consequences if this is not paid. This was something that the people voted and agreed upon. These taxes are there so that we can help pay for the government. The government takes this money and puts it back into our nation and helps stimulate our economy. Helps with public education, road maintenance, military, public safety, and other very important things. Taxes do not go up unless the people vote that it does. ***Yet I find myself today being told that my choices and rights are being taken away.*** I am being told that I have a new law I must uphold to. To have something that, we the people, did not get to vote for. Something that the Government and President did not hear the voice of the people. They did not give the people of America the chance to vote. I am being told that whether or not I can afford this new law does not matter. If I am unable to pay for the new law there will be consequences. I will be fined when I file my taxes. That fine will continue to go up over the years. If I do not pay my taxes I go to jail. So now I am afraid. I have a new law that states I have to have health insurance. There is no choice. I am not free to choose here. I have to abide to this law. So I ask this of you, Government and President: What is next? Will you take away my choice of religion? Will you demand that I have to believe in our religious beliefs or be fined? Will you take away my choice of lifestyle? Will I be forced to dress or act a certain way or be fined? Will you choose my spouse for me or whether or not I am to be married? Will you choose whether or not or how many children I will or will not have? Will you choose my work? Again I ask, what next will you force us to do? I am a US citizen. I am an American. I honor our American Flag. I am proud of our United States military. I am proud of the American people. I have a voice. I will be heard. Please do not give me a reason to not want to be a part of this nation. Do not give the people a reason to not want to be a part of this nation. Because We Will Stand UP. We will BE Heard. We will BE Free. This is the PEOPLE’S NATION. We are United, whether the Government is or not.
