If you are a union worker and are unhappy with your wages, run for office. I am a union member, and I am very happy with my pay and benefits. I make enough for my wife to have the opportunity to go easy on herself for as long as she needs to. As far as raising the minimum wage goes, to not do so is idiotic. Because of the rush to send as many of our manufacturing jobs overseas as possible, what were previously entry-level fast-food jobs, have evolved into long-term jobs for the new working poor. If we want to return these entry level jobs to high school and college kids, then we need to demand our manufacturing jobs back. The only way to do that is with our wallets. Screw convenience, thats what got us here in the first place. Go out of your way to buy American. Dont shop at Walmart. Almost everything they sell is made in China and they pay poverty wages. Show up and vote! Apathy is destroying us. Demand an end to lobbying, gerrymandering, and corporate personhood. Point your dissatisfaction towards the cause, not the effect! Its the wealthy, not the poor that have put us here! If you dont want to join a union, fine. At least dont work against us. The more we make, the more everyone makes.
