If you are already vegetarian I applaud you, but please consider going vegan. Although all animal exploitation is wrong, dairy is the cruelest industry (in my opinion) because generation after generation of cow is enslaved, raped, and tortured. The male babies are stolen from the cows for slaughter, and its heart-breaking. The female babies are doomed to the same short miserable life, being used up way before their time (Only 25% of dairy cattle live more than 7 years, although the natural life span for cattle is 20-25 years), and they are subjected to the same rape and torture as their mothers were. We do not have a real need to consume dairy, so why do it just because you might enjoy the flavor? The harm it causes is not worth it. Vegetarians and others, just because I am vegan doesnt mean that I judge you for not being vegan right now and I am not some kind of self righteous jerk, all I ask is that you check it out for yourself. I wont believe that any compassionate, loving person would want to be a part of causing such a horrible thing, but by consuming dairy we are just that. Now that you know, its up to you. I wont hate you if you dont... its nothing personal and God knows its not to benefit me. Im just trying to help the animals because they cant defend themselves. I hope all who read this will at least think about it or at least watch the movie Speciesism. I know I cant make you care about animal welfare (for those of you who dont), but maybe I can encourage a few people to make a change. P.S. Anyone who wants to make the I love bacon comment or any other such nonsense, please lets just take a shortcut and un-friend yourself now. This is a serious issue that I am quite passionate about.
