If you are an artist OF ANY KIND, and you put your work out into the world, One of two things will happen. A) Someone will like it. B) Someone will not like it. The thing to keep in mind is that, whether you like it or not, BOTH opinions are 100% valid. There are people who are NOT going to like your work and who will have opinions on how to make it better. Whether they are right or wrong is up to YOU to decide by asking yourself a couple of very simple questions. 1) Do they have a point I agree with? - If so, thank them and address the issue. - If not, thank them for their insight, possibly explain your angle if you feel like it, and move on. 2) Is their argument coated in good intentions and constructive commentary? - If yes, thank them for their respectful opinion and respectfully disagree. - if no, ignore them because they are merely trolling and intentionally trying to upset you. There is little point in wasting energy getting upset with someone for merely having an opinion because the fact is, we all have one.
