If you are an artist in Salt Lake chances are you have had the pleasure of meeting the lovely couple, Sarah Thompson and Will Thompson. They were always supporting local artists going to everything from private gallery openings to Arts Festivals. They loved Salt Lake Artists more than any two people I have ever met and Will joked with me that on a recent trip to Arizona, Sarah compared all the art they saw to SLC saying so and so couldve done this better. Will himself a photographer, has always supported me in every endeavor taking photos and lending a hand in anyway he could. Theyve gone through ups and downs as all of us artists do, but never faltered on their love of our local talent. Well, it saddens me to let people know that Sarah passed away early Tuesday morning. As you can imagine it is a very difficult time for the family, so they have asked me to help let people know of services for Sarah. Service will be held at Evans and Early 574 E 100 S on Wednesday 7/30/14 at 6pm. Sarah requested that in lieu of flowers that you please donate to one of her favorite animal charities: Cheetah Conservation Fund or the Snow Leopard Fund. We are working on setting up a charitable trust that will donate funds to Emerging Artists on Sarahs behalf. Until that is finalized, please contact Mike Julian if you would like to donate to that or to the family. If you could please help let people know who might like to attend, that would be very appreciated, especially some of the young artists that both Sarah and Will were so supportive of. Feel free to contact me for any additional information as well. My heart goes out to Will and his family. Losing someone dear to you is never easy, but I hope that with the the return support that they have shown us, we can let them know that Sarah was loved by the community that she loved so dearly. Thank you.
