If you are coming for the paranormal investigation this Saturday, February 8, you might want to consider hanging around Sunday for the organ concert in Gettysburg. This concert will be worth waiting for. Hell to Play Bach, Liszt, and Mendelssohn Feb 9th Music Gettysburg! welcomes the stunningly talented and globe- trotting organist, Felix Hell who will perform Bach, Liszt, and Mendelssohn in concert on the Andover Organ at the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg, February 9th, at 4 P.M. The virtuoso organist Hell is hailed as the most well known young concert organist worldwide (Dr. John Weaver), and undoubtedly one of the major talents of the century (Dr. Frederick Swann, AGO president), the German organ virtuoso Felix Hell is a phenomenon in several ways. Hell will perform Johann Sebastian Bacha Fantasia on Komm, Heiliger Geist, Herre Gott, the Choral Partita on Sei gegrüsset, Jesu gütig, and Prelude and Fugue in D Major. Other works on the program include Felix Mendelssohn and Franz Liszt, plus a Toccata by Enjott Schneider. A liturgical organist since the age of eight, Felix has concertized in Germany and abroad since the age of nine, has already performed more than 700 recitals in his native Germany, as well as abroad since the age of nine, concertizing in countries such as Australia, Canada, Finland, France, Iceland, Italy, Jamaica, Korea, Latvia, New Zealand, Norway, Malaysia, Singapore, Spain, Russia, and the USA, where he performed more than 500 recitals in 44 states. Hell was Distinguished Artist in Residence at Gettysburg Seminary from 2007-2011. The concert is free and open to the public, and the doors open for the concert at 3:15pm.
