If you are ever asked, to be Santas helper, try it at least one time, thoughts race through your mind, as you dress, joy you will find. with the bell shaking in your hand, rehearsing your HO, Ho, Ho, the eyes of those little ones, all on you, you speak of the North Pole. soon you are caught away, kids all excited, listened to what you say, when they sit upon your knee, then you encourage them, all is okay. they have been good all year, except for Johnny, someone tells on him, handing them a gift, you feel so overwhelmed, you feel the love in them. then you get a tight hug from Johnny, now youre a like kid once again, you gently pat his head, as you tell him how youve been watching him. grown-ups get involved, as they help you tell about your adventures, they have that glowing sparkle in their eye, for a moment, life is so simple. you tell them of the snow and the reindeers, which is a pleasant sight, now its time for you to go, yelling Merry Christmas and to all a goodnight.
