If you are going into politics, it is important to make sure all - TopicsExpress

If you are going into politics, it is important to make sure all your papers are in order. Thats why I spent a long time writing to the Electoral Commission about the problems I was having registering to vote in the European Parliament elections. Here are the emails: markasftw/pdf/mark_adam_harold_VRK.pdf They told me everything was fixed and there was nothing left for me to do. I thought everything was fixed, because they said it was. I did nothing more, because they said I didnt have to do anything more. When it was too late, I found out that my address registration had been rejected without my knowledge, and I was removed from the list of candidates for City Council. I accept that technically this is all my responsibility and all my fault. However, the system should be designed to help people, not to reject them. I honestly and dilligently tried to fix all my papers, I got confused by the Electoral Commissions advice, and now the same Electoral Commission say I am careless and not suitable to be a candidate in the elections. This is the same Electoral Commission who, after all these emails, gave me a vote in the Presidential elections, even though I am an unregistered illegal foreigner. I accuse the Electoral Commission of carelessness, and I have pointed out to them plenty of evidence that their systems do not work perfectly. Our systems work perfectly - Zenonas Vaigauskas, Chairman of the Electoral Commission.
