If you are in Los Angeles and want to help Typhoon victims: Please see the following information if you would like to help with the disaster relief in the Philippines. To donate emergency items, including clothing, meals, ready-to-eat foods such as Power bars, Clif bars and Ensure, blankets and toiletries. The items will be shipped Nov. 29 from the Port of Los Angeles to the Philippines. The following parishes are confirmed drop-off locations for relief goods and donations: -- Sacred Heart Church, 2889 N. Lincoln Ave., Altadena; -- St. Anthony Catholic Church, 215 Lomita St., El Segundo; -- Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 23233 Lyons Ave., Newhall; -- St. Madeleine Church, 931 E. Kingsley Ave., Pomona; -- St. Anthony Catholic Church, 600 Olive Ave., Long Beach; -- St. Philomena Church, 21900 S. Main St., Carson; -- Holy Family Church, 18708 Clarkdale Ave., Artesia; -- St. Genevieve Church, 14061 Roscoe Blvd., Panorama City; -- St. Lorenzo Ruiz Church, 747 Meadow Pass Rd., Walnut -- Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 4950 Santa Monica Blvd., Los Angeles. Donations can also by made by Nov. 29 with a check payable to Missionary Childhood Association -- Philippines Fund and mailed to: Missionary Childhood Association, Attn: Msgr. Terrance Fleming, 3424 Wilshire Blvd, Third Flood, Los Angeles, CA 90010. All funds raised will be wired to the Philippines on Dec. 5. Please pass on to anyone you know who would like to help.
