If you are looking for me, Im not there, Im here. Lit in Marshall - TopicsExpress

If you are looking for me, Im not there, Im here. Lit in Marshall yesterday afternoon, looked the town over and saw a lot of changes since I moved from here in 1967. The old Texas & Pacific railroad depot is now a great museum. Hope the depot in Orange ends up half as well. We made a sundown run to Caddo Lake. There are a lot of small cottage-cabins for rent there now. Several tour boats are operating. Rosie said the lake looked as spooky as she thought it would. The moss is extremely thick on the cypress trees. It was too late to take decent pictures. Heading up to Jefferson today. Been a while since Ive been there. If you like antique shops and flea market type shops, that is the town for you. Rooms are available at the Jefferson Hotel and the Excelsior House, but both are haunted...... I stayed at the Excelsior House several years ago and nothing was spooky. It is a very historic place. U.S. Grant, Oscar Wilde, and Jay Gould are three of the Old Guys who stayed there and the ledger pages with their signatures are on display in the lobby. The card that I signed is not on display---go figure!! Deep East Texas is my home away from home. Good to be back and forget the real world for a few days. See ya when I see ya....
