If you are on Ancestry, and you have not done the DNA test, but - TopicsExpress

If you are on Ancestry, and you have not done the DNA test, but are curious about it, I have made my Giffen-Stratton tree public again. I make it private now and then for various reasons. If you are related to me genetically in any way, you might be interested in looking at it. My name is elderberryjam. I have flagged all of the matches I have figured out by putting a * next to the first name. I have put a ^ next to the names that match my mother-in-laws Giffen/Giffin also. This means I have found the common ancestor with someone who is a DNA match. The * also comes down my line in my tree. There are over 17,000 names in my database, and Ive sorted out a lot of the Quaker lines in particular. Ancestry has relatively recently included a merge option, so I have eliminated a lot of duplicate people who are in several of my trees. Ancestry has also recently added flags to DNA matches of people whose trees have a common ancestor with you. I have been ill the past couple of days, and this is what I have been doing, curled up with hot beverages, Altoids, and tissues. If you follow the stars back to someone in the 1600s, the stars become more plentiful, and you can follow them back down the lines of ancestors we share in common.
