If you are seeing children, dead Palestinian children..... in your newsfeed, and you are devastated, I feel the need to say this: Im very glad you are outraged. It is outrageous. If you want to put a STOP to it, then let me help you understand how terrorism works. Terrorists do not obey international rules and moral rules of warfare. They often, and as a general rule, use and re-use horrific images that are not even their OWN to promote their own cause in shameless propaganda, and their cause is usually an unreasonable one (ie based on a wrong or faulty premise) which is how they can justify terrorism in the first place. Most of them ARE civilians, essentially. And they INTENTIONALLY use civilians, especially women and children, to promote their cause by SACRIFICING THEM to their cause, making it LOOK LIKE the other side is at fault. In this particular situation, we are talking about a country surrounded by countries who desire to annihilate it. Its that simple. The only democratic country in the area, btw. The only country in the area who is trying to PROTECT the freedom of children. Consider carefully what you are looking at when you look at these atrocious, heart wrenching images. I would encourage you to consider carefully who I am and why I say this. Yes, I have spiritual reasons and familial reasons to love Israel. Yes, that is a pre-dominant feature in the landscape of my thoughts and feelings. But spend five minutes with me and you will learn that I have great love for Arabs and for the middle east. Im the first to defend Muslims when they are treated unjustly, especially by powerful military members. My favorite saint was a Palestinian girl. I daily pray in arabic. I am a member of a Lebanese parish. Im not REMOTELY uninterested in the plight of the people of Palestine. I love all people. But I value TRUTH, above all, and the truth is that all is not as it appears. Israel has a right to exist and defend itself. End of. That so many people would be willing to allow and defend TERRORISM in the streets of allegedly democratic WESTERN countries in order to disarm and annihilate the state of Israel is quite telling. Dont be a follower. Dont be a slave to your emotions. THINK. I implore you to think.
