If you are still awake, please pray our underground water pipes do not burst during this freezing weather. Anytime there is a 40 degree variation in temperatures, the pipes contract and cause ruptures. If you think it is cold outside imagine repairing high pressure water pipes 3 feet under ground while they are spraying high pressure water 20 feet into the air. I do not want our Public Works employees (city or county) having to be out in these conditions. Also, pray for our Police and Fire officials because the cold causes all types of emergency situations. They all have families with loved ones who want them out of harms way, in from the freezing temperatures, and back home after their shifts. PRAY!
