If you are still deluding yourself into thinking we live in a democracy, heres a painful example of the true plutocracy the US has become: huffingtonpost/2014/12/02/rio-tinto-iran_n_6255706.html And for those too lazy to read the article, heres a summary: A multinational corporation (you know, those ephemeral people that were birthed from the Citizens United ruling) has paid off Senator McCain and others in order to secure copper mining rights on land that currently resides in the federally protected Tonto National Forest. This mining corporation is partially owned by China, and also co-owns a uranium mine in Namibia with Iran. Yes, the same Iran that McCain wants to invade. This land will not be paid for by the company, they will pay no royalties to the federal government, the mining will destroy groundwater, Native American cultural sites, and the land, and the BEST part, the copper that will be mined will go straight to China! All risk and no benefit to the good ol USA. All of this is being done on the back of a rider bill that the little rat McCain is attaching to critical funding bills that NEED to pass to keep the federal government open. Dont you love this country?!?
