If you are too lazy to watch the link because you probably have more time to watch some other silly and insignificant programme, here’s something you should really be reading. I summarized my understanding of the 10 reasons the presenter used to “why Israel is winning today”. I start this by paying respect to the presenter who intelligently put this talk together: 1) BDS (Boycott, divestment, sanctions) is not working; major computer /technology countries have not stopped buying technology from Israel today. Tourists are still coming to Israel. 2) In these current times it is even more difficult to believe or comprehend how Israel abuses the Palestinian’s human rights when you turn a head to what’s happening next door in Syria. A message of proportion, the violent Arab uprising, gross abuse of human rights puts the accusation of Israel abusive behaviour to rest. 3) The economic turmoil and difficulties the European countries are going through has downsized the efforts to campaign for delegitimizing the existence of Israel. 4) There is no diplomatic tsunami against Israel. Abbas went to the UN council got his vote more than a year ago, has anything happened? No, business is as usual, bilateral cooperation agreements are going ahead. 5) The demand for recognizing Israel as a Jewish state is gaining more solid grounds. You can see that in the American, Canadian and even the French statements regarding a need for a peace process to go forward. 6) There is no longer a strong left-wing public opinion in Israel. The public believe there is no single, reliable Palestinian authoritarian power to reconcile with. The Israeli public is no longer pressuring the government to downsize the settlements. 7) Israel has friends. 8) The Arab military threat to Israel no longer exists; it has evaporated. The Arab uprising is so convulsed with internal political, economical disparities and social injustice that the ability to coerce an organized threat to Israel no longer is possible. The Iraqi army is gone, Syrian army is at least 50% downsized in the last 2 years, the 14 divisions of Egyptian army only have 7 active and not corrupt. 9) The society created in Israel, the vibrant productivity and life style makes Israel a winner. Israel has contributed to the middle east and world in fields of technology, medicine and research. What great contributions have the Arab/Islam society contributed in the last 100 years! Put together the GDP for all 4 major Arab countries let a side the oil and do the math! 10) Israel has gas. 11) An Israeli engineer, computer scientist or doctor doesn’t want to move to anywhere in the world and be paid 5 times more. Israel is wining, what you are going to do!!!!!!!!!! Are you still going to watch the stupid telly and eat your fatty shawerma!!!! Shalom from Ahmed Basiouni if you get the message.
