If you asked many Christians if they knew beyond a shadow of a doubt they would go to heaven when they die, many would admit they werent sure. Yet God wants us to be sure--and we can be, once we understand what Jesus Christ did for us. The problem is that down inside, many of us still feel our salvation must be up to us, and we can only go to Heaven if we are good enough. But how do you know when you are good enough? The answer is--you dont. And that is why many Christians lack assurance of their salvation. The key is to understand that Christ took away all our sins--NOT PART OF THEM, BUT ALL OF THEM. No matter how good we are, we cant save ourselves because Gods standard is perfection. But Christ, who was without sin, did for us what we could not do for ourselves: He took all our sins upon Himself, and He took the death and Hell we deserve. Depend solely on Christ for your salvation. He paid the price! Now for the blessed assurance of where we will be when this walk of life is over, we read the words that Jesus shared in John 10:27-28 (My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life: and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.)
