She was involved in the screening of the documentary, No Fire Zone: The Killing Fields of Sri Lanka at a human rights event in Kuala Lumpur on 9 July 2013. Charging her for this crime violates her rights and contravenes Malaysia’s obligations to uphold freedom of expression. That commitment is inconsistent with the act of prosecuting human rights defenders for disseminating information on human rights.
