If you build it, they will come. That’s what the City of Regina has discovered. The capital of Saskatchewan hired the designer of the original World Trade Center in New York to construct Wascana Centre, a 930-hectare park that is larger than Manhattan’s Central Park or Vancouver’s Stanley Park. At the heart of the park is Wascana Lake, which lures residents and visitors alike for canoeing and sailing in summer, and ice skating in winter. Overlooking the park is one of Canada’s finest restaurants, Willow on Wascana. For its importance to Regina and its abundance of beauty, activity and fun, Wascana Lake is this week’s #WaterWednesday featured destination. For more information on Wascana Park and Wascana Lake, visit: tourismsaskatchewan/Wascana-Centre-Authority Each week, we spotlight Canada’s lakes, rivers and oceans. Make sure you share your #WaterWednesday photos and videos of Canada on Instagram, Facebook and/or Twitter for your chance to be featured on our page!
