If you cannot undo what has been done yet seek atonement then why repeat then same mistakes. Faces change yet qualities remain. Thus when someone does wrong and willingly admits it then why do they repeat their bad choices? Why continue down a path when you know they inevitable results will be a dead end. When there is something deviating from a norm of how you have been treated then why neglect it instead of embrace it? Why waste time on they same asshole with a different face?
