If you could pick the brain of any person, living or dead, for thirty minutes, with whom would you choose to spend that time? Interesting question? Your answer reveals a lot about you and your faith. Id like to suggest you consider spending that time with GOD; FATHER, SON & HOLY SPIRIT. You can pick HIS brain in the same way you would pick the brain of any other person. You would listen as the expert taught. And the best thing about that is that you can listen to GOD right now by reading the Bible and asking HIM to open your heart that you may see the riches HE has revealed in its pages for you. You have to set a time to listen to HIM, of course, even as you would have to make an appointment to pick the brain of any expert. You must clear your schedule and you must clear your mind. You cant really hear anyone if, while they are speaking, your mind is a thousand miles away occupied with a host of trivial mumbo-jumbo. My guess is that if you had a half hour with a human expert, you would be likely to take notes on what he or she told you. And in the very same way, you would be wise to journal the things GOD brings to your attention in HIS Infallible Word. Im sure you would think carefully over the nuggets of truth your expert laid before you. So, too, you need to meditate on the Truth you read and give careful attention to how it can be applied to your life. I suspect you would leave your human expert with gratitude, felt and expressed, for his or her help! I hope you will end your time with GOD with similar courtesy and gracious attitude of thanks and praise. HE Who runs the universe has given you HIS undivided attention and laid HIS Infinite Wisdom at your feet. Think of it! Let gratitude fill your soul and spring from your heart and lips in Praise and Glorification of The ONE, TRUE, LIVING GOD that has Blessed you with HIS Word so that you can find Truth. Time thus spent with GOD will transform your life and your soul. It will give you wisdom with which to face lifes challenges. It will show you the path to freedom. Most importantly, it will enable you to have intimate fellowship with your MASTER, your MAKER, your only true best FRIEND, your True FATHER. That meets real needs. Why not start today? Dear LORD, Please forgive me for looking to people when YOU stand ready to meet my every need and supply the wisdom I lack. Please give me the good sense to spend time with YOU every day, even numerous times a day if and when I am able, to Love YOU, to listen to YOU, to learn from YOU, and to live for YOU always. I thank YOU, FATHER, for all of the many Blessings YOU grant each one of us on a momentary basis. What Joy there is in being YOUR Child. What safety there in being in YOUR Will. In JESUS Name. Amen.
