If you decide to resign from the company you work for, you must resign and dont accept a counter-offer from your boss. They rarely work. Companies only give you a counter-offer so that they can look for your replacement while you are continuing doing the job. It is for their own convenience. You asked for a raise and you were told there is no budget. You resign because you have a better offer somewhere. Suddenly your boss who told you there is no budget have a budget now. Where on Earth do you think that money is coming from? It is more or less the same in relationships. Once you have shown that you were ready to leave and you were stopped with a promise that conditions will change, know that your replacement is on the way. Thats why you need to make that decision when you are absolutely sure that you are leaving, not use it as a technique to solve relationship challenges.
