If you do not work on yourself and answer these questions, you may - TopicsExpress

If you do not work on yourself and answer these questions, you may be destined to make the same mistakes all over again in your next relationship. Be picky when you are meeting people. Do not settle for just anyone. Seems like a no brainer, but again, so many jump into a new relationship with the first person who gives them the time of day. Take your time. You want someone with whom you have things in common, share the same values and goals. A person who compliments you. You may have to wait a while for this person to come into your life. The wait is worth it. Be open to it when it is there. If you do meet someone with whom you seem to connect, do not question it. Do not compare this relationship to past partnerships. That is history. Leave it there. Enjoy getting to know this person. Who they are and what they believe in. Live in the moment. Just be. The older I get, the more I learn that the things I have worried about in the past never happen. This is true in relationships as well. If it is working, just go with it. It is okay to be apart from your new partner? Ah yes, the infatuation stage. You want to spend every waking moment wrapped in each others arms. This is natural, and yes, fun. Think balance. You have to still make time for your friends and for yourself. Do not give up other activities thinking that it will make your relationship last. It has a tendency to backfire; the other person comes to resent you for taking up too much of their time. Do things together and with others. Be active. Go for a walk, a hike or biking. Throw a frisbee, make a meal or wash the car. Just enjoy each others company. Make it a priority to spend quality time together at least three times a week. More if at all possible. Even an hour together to discuss the day would be most beneficial. This must continue past the six month mark and into the future. These a just a few words of advice. Making relationships last is easier then some may realize. Take your time in finding a partner, and be open to this new relationship. Take relationship quizzes and fill out some relationship worksheets. You may just find your next relationship to be the best one yet. #manager
