Since June 2013, ALS has robbed Britt of the abilities to grip, to walk normally, to speak normally, and last week, he lost the ability to swallow. You manage the symptoms as best you can. I like to say I attack the symptoms, Britt said. Both Britt and Spinelli thank everyone who is dumping cold water on their heads — and to the naysayers who claim ice water will never cure ALS, they say, it doesnt matter. I see it differently. If I was to see this phenomenon going on, and I didnt know anything about ALS, it would bring me to the point where I learned about it, Britt said.
