If you dont understand how this works: DSH (Disproportionate Share Hospital) funding from the federal government (money that hospitals depend on to help reimburse them for the cost of treating uninsured indigent patients) was re-allocated to pay for Medicaid expansion... hospitals agreed to this idea because expanded Medicaid would mean far fewer uninsured indigent folks, so basically it was taking the money out of one pocket and adding it to another... refusing to expand Medicaid does NOT impact the DSH money, which is still lost... numerous small hospitals in SC and other GOP-led states that refuse to expand Medicaid are literally shutting down, because without DSH money and without Medicaid money to replace it, they cant make ends meet. VOTE. Thats BILLIONS of dollars in economic stimulus for SC that Nikki Haley is denying YOU in order to spite the president. Isnt it time SC had a governor that worked for the PEOPLE of the state?
