If you don’t like the politicians who are in office, go down to the cemetery and complain. According to a USA Today analysis of federal election records, dead people have donated nearly $600,000 to political campaigns and parties since 2009. That doesn’t mean the donations are shady. People are allowed to leave money to political groups in their wills. By far, the biggest recipient of the generosity of the departed is the Democratic National Committee. They’ve racked up $250,000 in donations from beyond the grave. But that only makes sense, considering they also win the votes of so many dead people.
