If you ever work on a boat one day, please avoid these annoying habits: 1. Leave your laundry in the washer and go to bed. 2. Listen to channel 13 or 16 while tied to the dock for days. 3. Turn on the big fat fibbers on the nws channel and listen to it cycle over and over and over. (And why cant anyone ever listen to that crap at low volume?) 4. Let your phone ring, ever, but especially in the wheelhouse while underway, and no i dont care if you are off watch. 5. Move the plexiglass cover that protects the chart from use. It messes up your colleagues crayon plot if the glass moves. (This is the only one on the list i do, btw. Hillarious!) 6. Leave your personal crap in a public head. It is not our job to look after your junk, and it is not my crews job to clean up after you. 7. Talk too much on the radio. If nobody is in your area and you can see, then stfu. Theres enough legit radio traffic. 8. Adjust another guys radar/radio/seat/whatever. If a guy steps away for minute just steer, dont decide anything. If you get a legit turnover, then knock yourself out. 9. Crap in the wheelhouse head. Ever. 10. Call us a dozen times on crew change day.
