If you find yourself without rest and in confusion, you should - TopicsExpress

If you find yourself without rest and in confusion, you should recognize that you are battling unbelief. So often when we become confused about the events of life and wonder why things are happening the way they are, we lose our peace and begin to question all we know to be true. Unbelief is so subtle. When we become confused, our focus will often turn inward. We begin to question what’s wrong with us, or what didn’t we do, or we ask why is this happening to me. PS 55:5-7 5 Fearfulness and trembling are come upon me, and horror hath overwhelmed me. 6 And I said, Oh that I had wings like a dove! for then would I fly away, and be at rest. 7 Lo, then would I wander far off, and remain in the wilderness. Have you ever fallen into this trap? When we are overwhelmed, we think to ourselves; if I could just get away for a few days, everything would be alright. If I could just fly away, I would be alright. Rest is not escapism by running away from our problems. HE 4:9-11 9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. 10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. 11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. There is a rest. It’s a supernatural rest. It is a rest that overcomes all confusion. There is no striving or running away, but it is a labor of faith. The children of Israel never enjoyed God’s rest through believing, and sometimes we don’t either. Let me encourage you today, no matter what you face, make a declaration of faith. Declare Jesus Lord over your circumstances, acknowledge Him in all your ways, and claim His promises for your life. God will give you rest for your soul. As unbelief is quenched, you will find peace in the midst of the storm.
