If you follow my daily post, you remember last Saturday January 10, I posted about a mystery explosion that took place in the Parish around 4:45 pm, that shook homes from Gold Place, to Hwy 30 to Hwy 42. During my post I explained that no one was hurt, but what ever it was needed to be reported, so we can at least have an answer on what happen. Yes we looked into many leads, including possible meth lab explosion. I want to thank all who reported where they heard this, different scenarios it could have been. Im happy to report that we at least know what it is now. Apparently you can purchase this material at a gun shop, for what Im being told is you can purchase this material by the lb. The explosion the other day was this material, purchased at a gun store, and it was actually 4 lbs. of it. Im being told that it is perfectly legal to sale and buy. Well this material went off at 4:45 pm last Sunday off Gold Place Rd. in the St. Amant community, and yes that 4 lbs. of material is what shook all these homes. I wonder what 8 lbs. will do. Just wanted to give my FB friends some sort of understanding on what happened here. Im even more curious about how and why would you ever want to sell or buy this type of material.
