If you forgot where you parked your car at the mall... and your car was lost... would it be cool with you if I rehomed it? How about your cell phone? Or wedding ring? Your purse? All things that people commonly lose - correct? So if I find something, it is immediately mine to do with as I please? If I post an ad that says I found something... how long do I have to give you to claim what is yours? A couple hours? A couple days? What if you lost your kid??? It happens! Should I assume you are a bad parent and shouldnt even have a kid if you dont take care of it? Perhaps charge a rehoming fee to make sure the kid gets a good home??? **unless the laws have changed, to have possession of something not belonging to you, and failing to return that something when the rightful owner requests it be returned, is a crime.** If you find a lost animal and cannot commit to making the effort to find the rightful owners - contact someone who can. Rehoming someones lost pet after only a couple days and a post on Craigslist or FaceBook is unethical and wrong. =^..^=
