If you have a water heater in your attic you might want to inspect - TopicsExpress

If you have a water heater in your attic you might want to inspect (or replace) it before going on an extended vacation. Neighbors came home from vacation only to see waterfalls, cascading down the walls of their ten year old, 2 story, 4,000 sq. ft. home! In a scene familiar to those whove lived through post-hurricane relief efforts, ServPro arrived with the big trucks, and their state of the art equipment. For the next two weeks, they worked relentlessly, as neighbors gossiped and talked amongst themselves. The house was so soaked that even the kitchen cabinets had to be replaced! The duct work, insulation in the walls, furniture, everything except two small rooms was SOAKED. But even after a valiant effort from ServPro and an army of contractors, the family must now live in a one bedroom motel for the next TWO MONTHS, as their dream home dries. As improbable as it seems, this is the FIFTH attic water heater to die on the same street this year! This neighborhood is 10 years old and many of these water heaters had 9 year warranties. Inspect or replace your water heaters before its final useful life reveals itself. I doubt you really want to spend two months in a one room motel room, as your dream home dries....
