If you have even a small portion of history you will readily understand that the Member of Parliament for Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound is referring to the Chippewas of Nawash when he is quoted as saying: And every time theyve played silly bugger over the years, whether its putting up gates, pissed me off, for the Owen Sound Salmon Spectacular or whatever, thats what theyve done. This is not very polite behaviour for a politician. The roadblocks would be a Traditional Right to the land (gained by conquest in the 1600s (i.e. The Battle of Skull Mound among others) and the putting up of gates is a thinly veiled reference to the successful Reclamation of the Hope Bay Subdivision. The Honourable MP is upset that he cannot run roughshod over a people in the dishonourable way which up until recently has been a solemn Tradition in his chosen forum. The result is, in order to get what he wants, MP Miller cannot put words to the black that is truly in his heart as per this report: He said he didnt want to talk about specific roadblocks which have slowed the process to get federal financing to dredge Owen Sounds harbour.
