If you have every listened to me or read my statuses you know how important I believe this is. So many people are beating each other to death (figuratively) in the name of love, in the name of God. You cannot properly love someone if you do not properly love yourself. You cannot give want you you do not have (what you have not received). Tiffany and I have hurt each other terribly. We have learned much and have so much to give. God has revealed to us in many different ways how He desires to use us to help couples. It has been hard for us to believe this and accept this. Through some wonderful teachers, counselors, and friends God has peeled back the layers of our sin and our woundedness. He does this slowly and gently so He only exposes what can heal well. When we are ready He exposes more revealing Himself, His Love. This is exactly why the enemy has been doing his best to steal, kill, and destroy us our finances, our relationship, and our very lives. To prevent us from continuing to heal and keep us from sharing this with so many that are broken and suffering. But God...BUT GOD!, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace we have been saved— and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace we have been saved through faith. And this is not our own doing; it is the gift of God. More teaching from Sharon Hungerford John 14:15 If you love Me, keep My commandments... John 13:34,35 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another. Loving one another as He has loved you is keeping His commandments. In counseling, one of the greatest issues I run across for believers is they do not fully believe God loves them. I will address the question of: How can we love one another as He loves us, when we do not fully and experientially know He loves us. How can we love our brothers, when we do know believe we are fully loved? Please study Eph. 1:3-6 In this passage we learn God has blessed you with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places. He chose you before the foundation of the world, (before you ever did anything right or wrong) to be holy and without blame before Him in love, adopting you as a son or daughter. And why did He do this, it was His will (He wanted to) and it gave Him pleasure to do so. (it made Him happy) You are accepted in the Beloved! This is what He says about the saints! We must believe this to fully love one another. Prayer: Loving Father, full of mercy and truth, Hear our prayer, O Lord. Thank You that we can love because You first loved us. Forgive us for believing the lie that You do not love us or that You could not possibly love us fully. Your word says perfect love casts out all fear and that fear produces torment. Forgive us for being tormented by a lie. We have believed we must earn Your love when it was freely given. Forgive us for not believing we are loved by You. Forgive us for not loving one another. May we love as You have first loved us! Thank You for this truth! In Jesus name. Amen.
