If you have followed me much on FaceBook, you know that I have been on a journey to lose weight and live healthy. I often post my runs and exercises here on FB. Two years ago, my son, Zach, got me into a health program. He had lost 80 lbs. with it and I lost 50 lbs. in three months. After visiting my doctor, he took me off my medicines for high cholesterol and high blood pressure. Then I had this catastrophic health crisis when my abdominal iliac aneurism ruptured, and some might ask, Ha, see what good all that work did for you? You changed your diet. You worked hard at exercise. Then, you nearly die. Whats with that? The suggestion is that all the work I did to be healthy was futile, so why not, . . . eat and drink, for tomorrow we die (1 Corinthians 15:32)? However, I had several doctors and nurses tell me that had I NOT been in good physical condition, I would NOT have survived. A ruptured artery is so horrendous, its a wonder I am alive and recovering at a good pace. The anethesiologist that attended me from the helicopter to the operating room called me a week after the event. She told me that her team put me on a gurny and literally RAN me to the OR. While running, she ordered lots of blood for my procedure. They used 40 units of blood to save my life (the human body holds about 10 units). They did not know my blood type, they just knew I could not live without blood. They were ready to compress my heart to keep it pumping, but they never needed to––my pulse never stopped. I am so glad that I chose to do something about my obesity and poor health habits––no regrets here. I know that God is the ultimate provider of life, but I also believe He wants me to take care of the vessel entrusted to me from which I live for His glory and serve for His pleasure. Do you know someone who is wanting better health? As a health coach I help others lose weight, reduce medications, improve their sleep habits, and create their personal health goals. It is my passion to be part in helping people go from surviving to thriving. My son Zach believed for me until I believed for myself, let me do the same for you or someone you love. Message me or give me a call to learn about the program that has been key in teaching me and Zach the long term habits of health. Looking forward to connecting with many of you over the holidays! I discipline my body and make it my slave, so that, after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified. 1 Corinthians 9:27
