If you have thought about adopting a shelter pet.. NOW is the time. We have big city numbers and we are a small town... Its sad that that there are SO many homeless animals in Union County. We are doing everything we can to maintain, and fulfill our mission statement. Animals arrive daily with nowhere to go but UCAPS. WHERE they end up is up to you. We have 29 unfinished kennels.. We are at a stand still until $$ can be raised to finish them. We ARE overcrowded... but this is their last chance at finding a home... Dont like seeing all the makeshift pens and kennels? Adopt and give them a home! Foster until we can get them into the Paws In Prison Program... Foster a mother dog who is about to give birth.. Help us bottle feed the babies.. Spay and neuter your pets... Its not about being able to give all the puppies/kittens away... Thats puppies and kittens who wont be adopted from a shelter... Have you done a followup with animals that you have given away? Ever wondered how many ended up with us? How many were left unaltered and are contributing to the unwanted litter problem we have? Ever lost your pet? Did you call the shelter to see if they were there? Dont like the smell? Donate cleaning supplies.. What you smell is bleach, hard work and animals... We are a shelter, not a pet store. Ever wondered what you can do to help? Volunteer, foster, sponsor, puppy sit at adoption days, advocate spay neuter programs, donate, adopt... There are so many ways to help... but the most important thing is... visit us. See what we do every day. Day in, day out.... 7 days a week.
